Uses
Phenylphosphonium dichloride is used as plasticiser, flame retardant, pesticide intermediate, paint compound, defoamer, antioxidant, etc. The two chlorine atoms in its molecule are chemically active, and it can be reacted with alcohols, phenols, aldehydes, amines, and oxygen, sulfur, and halogens to prepare other organophosphorus compounds.
