Uses
1. Mainly used in pharmaceutical intermediates, also used in spices, adhesives, resin additives, electroplating polishing agent and so on.
2. Used as complexing agent, also used in the preparation of barbiturates.
3. Malonic acid is the intermediate of fungicide Paddy Mildew, and also the intermediate of plant growth regulator indoxylate.
4. Malonic acid and its esters are mainly used in spices, adhesives, resin additives, pharmaceutical intermediates, electroplating polishing agents, explosion control agents, heat welding flux additives and so on. In the pharmaceutical industry for the production of luminal, barbiturates, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B6, phenylbutazone, amino acids and so on. Malonic acid is used as a surface treatment agent for aluminium, and there is no pollution problem because only water and carbon dioxide are generated when it is decomposed by heating. In this respect, it has a great advantage over acid-type treatment agents such as formic acid used in the past.
5. Malonic acid is used as an additive for chemical plating and as a plating polishing agent.
