Chemical Properties
White monoclinic crystal. Small amount soluble in water, ethylene glycol, glycerol and pyridine. Slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in ether, benzene, carbon tetrachloride.
Uses
1. The main raw material for melamine formaldehyde resin.
2. Used as organic element analysis reagent, also used in organic and resin synthesis.
3. Used as tanning agent and filler for leather processing.
4. Condensation and polymerisation with formaldehyde can produce melamine resin, which can be used in plastics and coating industry, and also can be used as textile anti-folding and anti-shrinkage treatment agent. Its modified resin can be used to make metal paint with bright colour, durability and good hardness.
5. Industrial additives, widely used in plastics, coatings, textiles, paper.
