Uses
N-isopropyl acrylamide is a monomer of acrylamide derivatives. Due to the hydrophilic amide group and hydrophobic isopropyl group in the molecule, its homopolymer has good characteristics such as lower critical dissolution temperature, and it is mainly used in the manufacture of polymer gels with temperature-sensitive properties, such as: controlled release materials for medicines, solid materials for enzymes, dehydrating agents, concentrating agents, etc. It can also be used in the manufacture of modified latex, special coatings, adhesives, etc. N-isopropyl acrylamide is used in the preparation of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)(pNIPA), (N-isopropylacrylamide). It can also be used in the manufacture of denaturing latex, special coatings, adhesives, etc. N-isopropyl acrylamide is used in the preparation of poly(N-isopropyl acrylamide) (pNIPA, pNIPAAm, pNIPAm) heat-sensitive polymers or copolymers type hydrogels. NIPAM-containing polymers shrink dramatically above 33°C. The monomer is used to prepare thermosensitive, water swellable hydrogels.
