Solubility Soluble in tartaric acid, sodium sulphide solution, concentrated sulfuric acid, slightly soluble in alcohol, ammonium salt, insoluble in acetic acid, dilute alkali and dilute inorganic acid. Insoluble in cold water.
Uses
1. Used as glass clarifier, also can be used as flame retardant synergist.
2. Used as opaque filler, emulsifier of enamel and acid-resistant paint of iron and steel plate.
3. Used as clarifying agent for picture tube, optical glass and all kinds of high-grade glass, flame retardant for textile and plastic products, emulsifying agent for enamel, opaque filler for casting paint and component of antacid paint for iron and steel plate. It is used to identify sodium ion in chemical analysis.
