What is Cupric hydroxide？

Copper hydroxide is an inorganic substance, chemical formula for Cu (OH) 2, dry powder shows blue powder or crystal, slightly toxic, commonly used as an analytical reagent, but also used in medicine, pesticides and so on. It can be used as catalyst, mordant, pigment, feed additive, paper dye, swimming pool disinfectant and so on. It is also a weak oxidising agent.

Copper hydroxide is a blue flocculent precipitate, insoluble in water, heat decomposition, slightly amphoteric, soluble in acid, ammonia and sodium cyanide, easily soluble in alkaline glycerol solution, darkened by heat to 60-80 ℃, the temperature is higher decomposition of black copper oxide and water.

Catalyst: Copper hydroxide can be used as a catalyst in various chemical reactions.

Antiseptic: Because copper hydroxide has certain bactericidal and antiseptic properties, it can be used as an antiseptic. It is commonly used in wood preservative treatment, such as antiseptic coatings, wood impregnation and other fields.

Copper hydroxide is a protective fungicide, the particles of the powder are fine, the amount of particles per kg of powder is 3 times of the general copper agent, and its diffusivity and adhesion are excellent. Therefore, it can be uniformly adhered to the plant surface after application, and the contact surface with the germs is bigger, not easy to be washed out by water, so the bactericidal effect is stronger.

Plastic additives: copper hydroxide can be used as fillers and additives for plastics, which can improve the mechanical properties, thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity of plastics.
