Physical and chemical properties:
1,3-Dioxolane is a colourless transparent liquid at room temperature and pressure, soluble in water, ethanol, ether and acetone. Its vapour and air can form explosive mixtures, which can cause combustion and explosion when exposed to open fire and high heat. The compound has no danger of polymerisation, but is intolerant to oxidising agents and acids.
Chemical properties:
Colourless translucent Chemicalbook clear liquid. Freezing point -95℃, boiling point 78℃(100kPa), relative density 1.066(15/4℃), refractive index 1.3974, flash point 1℃. Miscible with water, soluble in alcohol, ether and benzene. Azeotrope formed with water, azeotropic point 70-73 ℃, containing 6.7% water. Can decolourise bromine water.
Applications
1,3-Dioxolane is an excellent organic solvent, mainly used as a solvent and extractant for oil and fat, and an electrolytic solvent for lithium batteries
Packing
The normal packing: 200kg Drum, 16000KGS/Container
This product should be stored in a dry place and sealed warehouse under normal temperature to avoid direct sunlight.
